-MEET MRS. WILSON- Hello 5th grade families! My name is Mrs. Wilson and I am SO excited to have you as part of the Benjamin Elementary School family this year, and most importantly, part of our classroom family!
This is my eighth year teaching. I taught 4th grade for four years in Pekin, Illinois, one year teaching 6th grade in Jacksonville, IL, and this is my third year teaching 5th grade at Benjamin. I graduated from Illinois State University in 2013 and am currently getting my Masters in reading through ISU.
Here are some facts about me: I grew up in Mahomet, IL which is about 30 minutes east of Bloomington. I have been married to my husband Travis for four years. We have a one year old daughter named Elyse and a blue heeler named Addy. My sweet family is so important to me, so you will hear lots of stories about them. I absolutely love to read, eat sweets, travel, run, drink Dunkin Donuts iced coffee, be involved at my church, spend time with family and friends, and bake.
I am beyond excited to get to know my students and their families throughout this school year! There will be many opportunities for families to be involved in our classroom (field trips, projects, writing celebrations) because the relationship between school and home is so very important to helping students be successful! Looking forward to a year filled with learning, fun, laughter, and great memories!
